Solubility & blending
Menthol crystals dissolve well in alcohol and in many essential oils and fragrance oils. They are generally not soluble in water or glycerin. For easy incorporation into lotions and creams, crush the crystals first and pre-dissolve them in a suitable carrier (such as oils or alcohol). Many makers also use a solubilizer to help with even blending.
